The No Expansion of SR520 Citizens Coalition is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization registered in Washington State. Since our founding in 1994, we have worked for a safer SR520 but one that does not add traffic lanes across Lake Washington. We helped lead a successful effort in the 1990s to thwart an effort by a private corporation to take over and expand SR520.

 Expanding SR520 would damage the Arboretum, the Union Bay wetlands, and neighborhoods, and it would worsen global warming, at the very time that our region should be leading the way to a better future. We document in this web site the damage and unaffordability of the expansion options, and provide details on the Green Alternative that we developed jointly with other public interest organiazations and advocates.

It is important and urgent for you to sound off to your elected officials against SR-520 expansion and in favor of the Green Alternative. We welcome your suggestions for improving our message and this web site.
